Bio
Tracy Gorman is a proud Canadian East-Coaster, now Toronto based, textile artist. Her artworks and installations reflect on themes of self, society and the environment - three interrelated elements that cannot be without each other. Favouring natural fibres and using various sewing techniques, her artworks of altered shapes, textures and colours are woven as stories, reflecting on thoughts and dreams.
After studying Fashion in university, she worked in theatre, co-created the clothing label Ambiguity Originals with Joanne LeBlanc and developed a career creating historic reproduction costumes. Gorman’s textile art installations have been shown at Toronto’s Nuit Blanche, Gallery 1065, the Red Head Gallery in Toronto and the World of Threads Festival in Oakville.
