Theme: Step Into My Space
After 3 long years, Nuit Blanche returned to Toronto in 2022. I was grateful to be able to join the One Path Collective once again to exhibit at Spadina Museum.
CLOUD DRESS
Clouds to me were, and are, magical formations in the sky that can spark imagination and dreaming.
That was then… Now we have data clouds…
These spaces where our digital information is stored ‘for us’. The beautiful word ‘cloud’ co-opted to (deceptively) describe the large physical structures full of wires, chips & concrete, using up precious natural resources to store all of our digital information, and now to run AI…
From these ruminations, came the Cloud Dress. A diary of thoughts and memories translated into 8-bit binary code.
Interactive Companion Piece to Cloud Dress
Paper, markers and a 8-bit Binary code legend were provided to visitors. They were invited to create binary code messages.
These were all displayed on a dress form for all to read & try to decipher.
